Frequently asked questions

What PCIe generation does the motherboard need?

PCIe Gen5 NVMe drive. Maximum speed requires a motherboard with an M.2 Gen5 slot (Intel LGA1700 from 14th gen+, AMD AM5 with X670E / X870). Will also work in a Gen4 slot at reduced speed (50%).

Why does the drive come with a heatsink?

Gen5 drives heat up significantly under load (up to 85°C without cooling). The bundled heatsink prevents thermal throttling — automatic performance reduction the system applies for protection. Recommended to keep the heatsink attached.

How many years of warranty?

5 years manufacturer warranty on Samsung 9100 PRO. Claims handled through the official Israeli importer.

What's the official SKU?

Manufacturer SKU: MZ-VAP2T0CW. You can verify on samsung.com / westerndigital.com / crucial.com etc.
